Red meat contains very high quantities of iron, when compared with plant origin foods. It is loaded with high quality protein and contains all the essential amino acids that the body requires. There is a popular misconception that red meat is bad for heart due to the high cholesterol and saturated fat content. But there is no relation between dietary cholesterol and blood cholesterol. Since body regulates blood cholesterol and there is no confirmed scientific basis that saturated fat or cholesterol can cause blood cholesterol to rise.
